PetSOS is an app that supports searches for lost pets — it combines geolocation, artificial intelligence (Smart Vision AI) that recognizes animals from photos, and sector-based Search Missions that the whole community can join.
Smart Vision AI analyzes a photo of the animal and tries to recognize its coat pattern, breed, size and other distinctive features, then automatically suggests them in the report's description — so filling out a report takes just a moment.
Yes, PetSOS is completely free in its basic version — aside from an optional "coffee" donation and a small ad banner at the bottom of the app. Paid options are also available: a Premium Report (a one-time boost for a specific lost-pet report — it unlocks the AI Matcher, lets you add up to 4 photos instead of 1, and cuts through other users' muted notifications) and a Premium Account (a 3, 6 or 12-month subscription that includes all Premium Report benefits, plus removes ads and lets you add more photos and comment on POI points — regular users can only rate them with stars). You don't need to create an account to use the app — you just need to enter your email address the first time you launch it, which is used to send you a login link; this keeps the app secure and enables Premium account handling.
You create a report by adding a point on the map with information about the lost animal. If that report was purchased as Premium, the app immediately runs the AI Matcher, comparing photos of found animals against lost-pet reports. You can also manually use the "Find owner" option to check whether a similar animal has already been reported lost, and contact the owner directly through the built-in chat, which also supports sending photos.
PetSOS doesn't come with its own ready-made database of vets — places such as clinics, shelters or pet stores are added by users themselves through the "Add POI" option on the app's main map. Once added, a place is visible to everyone, and anyone can contact it directly from the map.
